The Amazon Influencer Program

Marketing via influencers is a trend that’s definitely sticking around.

Amazon has been on the forefront of influencer marketing with the Amazon Affiliates Program for about twenty-five years.

Its most recent extension, the Amazon Influencer Program, is growing in popularity and proving to be a boon for brands of all sizes.

If your products are already available through Amazon, why not take advantage of this lucrative opportunity to boost your brand?

Who Are the Amazon Influencers?

With the Affiliates Program, basically anyone with a website or blog and a small (500) social media following can join, but the Influencer Program is a bit more exclusive. Firstly, a YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook account is required.

If applying with Instagram or Facebook, applicants must also have a business account. Amazon then decides whether or not an applicant can join based on the size of social media following and engagement metrics.

For brands, this means any Amazon Influencer you work with likely already has a solid customer reach.

Keep in mind, though, that effective influencers don’t need to have the most followers to be successful for your brand. There are many talented nano and micro-influencers out there doing fantastic work.

How Are Products Shared?

Another difference between the two programs is how influencers can share the items they’re recommending.

Members of the Affiliates Program are only able to share products on their own blogs or social media accounts, but members of the Influencer Program are given a URL and build customized storefronts on Amazon that includes links to products they’re endorsing.

Those same links are posted in their content on platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, Instagram, blogs, etc.

This makes it easier and more convenient for followers to get to the products. Of course, with both programs, the influencers make a commission of the sales they bring in.

Benefits of Amazon Influencer Marketing

Amazon has known for a long time that influencer marketing works, and their highly organized program creates a streamlined shopping experience so that folks can quickly find and buy your brand’s products.

Amazon Influencer Marketing means more sales where you don’t even have to do the selling, enhanced SEO since more traffic to your page bumps you up in Amazon searches, more trust in your brand from consumers, increased brand awareness as your name gets out to new audiences and ongoing lead generations since the Amazon Storefront, unlike an ad, is always searchable.

Finding the Right Amazon Influencer For Your Brand

So what about finding the right influencer for your specific brand?

First of all, you’re in luck, there is certainly no shortage of Amazon influencers out there.

To find the right one, you can go straight to the source, Amazon, and browse Amazon Live or search #FoundItOnAmazon, there’s currently not a direct search so you’ll have to do some scrolling and investigating.

You can also hit the socials and search with #Amazon hashtags such as #AmazonFinds, #AmazonDeals and #AmazonMustHaves.

As you're searching, look for influencers who speak to you, match your brand’s message and feel, and who stand out with their own creative flair.

Pay attention to whether or not they’re growing followers, how they interact with their followers and how organized their socials and storefront appear.

Remember, if it doesn’t work out with one, you can always search for another influencer who is a better fit.

So get out there and start searching for the right influencer to team up with, and take advantage of the powerful reach of Amazon to grow your brand!
