A Few of Our Favorite 2024 Marketing Trends

When it comes to the fast-paced marketing industry, the ability to quickly adapt to the latest trends is crucial. The importance of staying competitive and relevant when it comes to effectively reaching consumers cannot be overstated.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at a few of this year’s marketing trends that we’re most excited about.

Short Form Video

Short-form video will continue to be one of the most important ways brands can engage with consumers.

In fact, it’s demonstrating to be the most effective marketing tool right now, and has the highest ROI (return on investment). Expect this to be the area of most growth and higher investments in 2024.

If you haven’t gotten on board yet, now is the time.

TikTok, Instagram Reels and You-Tube Shorts are especially booming, but LinkedIn and Facebook remain important. Repurposing videos across each platform is vital to reaching different audiences and getting the most out of your investment.

Further, live-streaming is particularly growing as it allows brands to create closer relationships with the audience and grow trust - everyone loves a chance to peek “behind-the-scenes” and ask questions in real time.

Influencer Marketing

Collaborating with influencers is becoming increasingly common for brands, and it also happens to be another great way to incorporate short-form video.

Working with influencers offers a path to gaining new audiences you may have otherwise never reached.

Influencers do not have to be costly celebrities with huge followings to have an impact on a brand. Rather, consider micro-influencers who might have smaller followings, but followers that are highly invested and engaged.

Micro-influencers are everyday people who have built trust with their followers, offering the trust in the brands they choose to represent by proxy.

Additionally, the size of a following does not always indicate how effective an influencer can be for a brand, it’s more important to pay attention to clicks, subscribes and purchases.

Branded Social Media DMs

Utilizing social media DMs for customer service is another trend we’re excited about.

As social media apps such as Instagram and Facebook have grown their e-commerce capabilities, it’s only natural that customer service needs to be a part of this new market.

Messaging a company through DMs is particularly comfortable and appealing to Millennials and Gen Z, and can provide a more personal connection.

Data-Driven Marketing

Know your audience.

While data has always been one of the most important keys to effective marketing, it’s becoming increasingly crucial to understand your audience on a deeper level.

Basic demographic information remains important, but an awareness of your audience in terms of their interests, hobbies, how they use media, shopping preferences, social causes and more is vital.

With the flood of digital content out there, it’s important to stand out. Insightful data offers a major advantage to reaching an audience effectively.

Having a more well-rounded view of your audience offers the ability to create more effective content that targets consumers more successfully, thereby increasing the ROI.

Offline Events

That’s right, in-person events are coming back, baby! With the pandemic (mostly) in the rearview mirror, businesses will be incorporating more face-face interactions with their customers.

Events will come in the form of pop-ups, immersive experiences, sponsoring or attending a trade show, participation in industry conferences and so on. And speaking of data, make sure to find out as much as you can about your participants before they arrive so you can tailor your strategies to their preferences.
